Possible Minds: 25 Ways of Looking at AIPossible Minds: 25 Ways of Looking at AI by John Brockman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thougth-provoking volume about recent developments in AI research. A multifaceted selection of predominatly US-based thinkers that reaches from serious warnings about things like the „alignment problem“ to laid-back analysis of what is inevitably going to happen. A must read for everyone who wants to be up to speed in one of the most important debates of our time.

New Dark Age: Technology and the End of the Future – James Bridle

New Dark Age: Technology and the End of the FutureNew Dark Age: Technology and the End of the Future by James Bridle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

New Dark Age is both a deeply frightening and highly enjoyable book. Being an artist allows Bridle to connect dots and link events that average people often tend to overlook. His writing is lucid, vibrant and hypnotizing at times. I love the passage in „Conspiracy“ where he jumps from chemtrails to contrails to the grounding of airplanes during the 9-11 event to the sudden appearence of endless news-ticker that never went away again to the constant state of crisis that eventually gives room to conspiracy theories of all kinds! Highly recommendable read.
