Gerade lese ich Ryan Griffins wunderbares Essay Neither scene nor heard: a journey through ambient music und nehme mir wieder einmal vor mich in diesem Winter verstärkt mit Ambient- und Dronemusic zu befassen. Ryan verweist in der Mitte des Essays auf den vor zwei Jahren verstorbenen deutschen Ambientpionier Pete Namlook. Der hat im Laufe seines Schaffens etwa 135 Alben rausgebracht und da ist es eine Schande, dass mir kein Werk von ihm bekannt ist.
Wie gut, dass der Amsterdamer DJ Rich-Ears ein mehr als fünfstündiges „Best of“ gemixt hat, mit dem ich jetzt meine Hausaufgaben nachholen kann …
